  1. Looking back on it 30+ years later, some will find there's actual value in this, third album by Visage, but apart from curiosity it may provoke (thanks be due to a great album title, mind you), "Beat Boy" remains a painfully dull and forgettable combination of out-on-out rockin' synth-soul/funk clichés of the time/5(40).
  2. This album was the third LP released by Visage and despite the outstanding tracks Beat Boy and Love Glove it didn't have the same commercial success as the Visage and The Anvil albums. It was great to see this eventually released on CD and with the bonus tracks it is a must buy item for the completist/5(22).

  6. Well, Like all of the others here - I bought the original LP of "Beat Boy" way back in I haven't had an LP player for years. I've had the CD versions of the "Visage" and "The Anvil" since I can't remember when. So, I was all excited when I saw this finally released! I had the 12" versions of "Love Glove" and "Beat Boy" as well so it was /5(9).
  7. Visage were a shining light in the early 80s. Their first two albums, the self-titled debut and the superb underrated "Anvil" were both chock full of catchy singles and killer album tracks. Maybe I'm being a little unfair but "Beat Boy" suffers from the departure of the main creative forces of messrs Ure and Currie.
  8. VISAGE Vinyl Records and CDs followed a year later by their self-titled debut LP. The album yielded a major single in "Fade To Grey," an instant club classic which heralded synth-pop's imminent commercial breakthrough. The follow-up, "Mind of a Toy," was a Top 20 hit. "Beat Boy," was Visage's release, the band now consisting of.
  9. Beat Boy was released on 22 October on vinyl and cassette by Polydor Records. The cassette version of the album featured remixes of the album's original tracks, with a total running time of over 50 minutes. This included an extra track, the instrumental "Reprise" (a reprise of the track "Questions").
